To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'Shell' = 'Explorer.exe svchost.exe'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Yahoo Messengger' = '<SYSTEM32>\svchost.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Task Manager' = '%WINDIR%\taskmng.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'SVCHOST' = '%WINDIR%\system\system64\svchost.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\svchost.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Folder.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
- file extensions
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Windows Task Manager (Taskmgr)
- Registry Editor (RegEdit)
blocks the following features:
- System Restore (SR)
Creates and executes the following:
- %WINDIR%\index.exe
Terminates or attempts to terminate
the following user processes:
- bdss.exe
Searches for registry branches where third party applications store passwords:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Yahoo\pager]
Modifies settings of Windows Internet Explorer:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] 'Window Title' = 'wWw.ClubNhac.Com Chuc cac ban nghe nhac vui ve ....'
Forces autoplay for removable media.
Sets a new unauthorized home page for Windows Internet Explorer.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %WINDIR%\system\system64\svchost.exe
- %WINDIR%\svchost.exe
- %WINDIR%\index.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\autorun.ini
- %TEMP%\aut1.tmp
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\autorun.ini
Deletes the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Folder.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\svchost.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- %TEMP%\aut1.tmp
- <SYSTEM32>\svchost.exe
- %WINDIR%\svchost.exe
