To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'javaplay.exe' = '"%APPDATA%\javaplay.exe"'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'javaplay.exe' = '"%APPDATA%\javaplay.exe"'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\{%USERNAME%-#Atthackers#}\javaplay.exe
Malicious functions:
Injects code into
the following system processes:
- %WINDIR%\Explorer.EXE
Modifies file system :
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\{%USERNAME%-#Atthackers#}\javaplay.exe
Moves itself:
- from <Full path to virus> to %APPDATA%\javaplay.exe
Network activity:
Connects to:
- 'ir#.#rcatt.info':3211
UDP:
- DNS ASK ir#.#rcatt.info
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: ''
