Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Winupdate' = '<SYSTEM32>\wupdate.exe'
Creates the following services:
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\hwinterface] 'Start' = '00000001'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\stdio.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Autorun.inf
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
- file extensions
Modifies settings of Windows Explorer:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] 'NoFolderOptions' = '00000001'
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\Autorun.inf
- C:\stdio.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\wupdate.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\inpout32.dll
- <DRIVERS>\hwinterface.sys
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\stdio.exe
- C:\Autorun.inf
- C:\stdio.exe
