- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Client.exe' = '"<Full path to file>" ..'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Client.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\taskkill.exe' /F /IM wscript.exe
- '<SYSTEM32>\taskkill.exe' /F /IM cmd.exe
Terminates or attempts to terminate
the following system processes:
- <SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe
Modifies file system:
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\ctfmon.exe.new
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Client.exe
Moves the following system files:
- from <SYSTEM32>\ctfmon.exe to %TEMP%\14437
Moves the following files:
- from <STUBS_DIR>\ecmd\ecmd.exe to %TEMP%\46099
- from %HOMEPATH%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\desktop.ini to %TEMP%\72715
- from %HOMEPATH%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Shortcut to startup_local.lnk to %TEMP%\36248
