Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'Userinit' = '<SYSTEM32>\userinit.exe,regedit32.com'
Creates or modifies the following files:
- %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\startup.bat
Infects the following executable system files:
- <SYSTEM32>\notepad.exe
Substitutes the following executable system files:
- <SYSTEM32>\dllcache\notepad.exe with <SYSTEM32>\dllcache\notepad.exe.new
- <SYSTEM32>\notepad.exe with <SYSTEM32>\notepad.exe.new
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
- file extensions
Creates and executes the following:
- %WINDIR%\Temp\svchost.exe
- %WINDIR%\Web\svchost.exe
- %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\startup.bat
Forces autoplay for removable media.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\msconfig.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\regedit.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\dllcache\notepad.exe.new
- <SYSTEM32>\notepad.exe.new
- %WINDIR%\Web\svchost.exe
- %WINDIR%\Temp\svchost.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\regedit32.com
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\msconfig.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\regedit.exe
Deletes the following files:
- %TEMP%\~DF4210.tmp

Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Shell_TrayWnd' WindowName: ''
- ClassName: '' WindowName: ''
