Malicious functions:
To bypass firewall, removes or modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List] '%WINDIR%\system\svchost.exe' = '%WINDIR%\system\svchost.exe:*:Enabled:iexplore'
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List] '%WINDIR%\system\iexplore.exe' = '%WINDIR%\system\iexplore.exe:*:Enabled:iexplore'
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List] '<SYSTEM32>\timer.exe' = '<SYSTEM32>\timer.exe:*:Enabled:timer'
Creates and executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\comctl32.exe
Searches for registry branches where third party applications store passwords:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3]
- [<HKCU>\Software\ORL\WinVNC3]
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\shdocvwc.dll
- <SYSTEM32>\comctl32.exe
- %WINDIR%\cth.hlp
- %WINDIR%\system\svchost.exe
- %WINDIR%\system\iexplore.exe
- %WINDIR%\system\mscom32dll.exe
