Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
blocks the following features:
- System Restore (SR)
Executes the following:
- %WINDIR%\regedit.exe /s /e "" "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\NetWork"
- <SYSTEM32>\rundll32.exe user32.dll,UpdatePerUserSystemParameters
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\Desktop\EL-Kapten.txt
- C:\desktop.ini
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- C:\desktop.ini
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
Deletes the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
