To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'system' = '<SYSTEM32>\system.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\system.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AutoRun.vbs
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AutoRun.inf
Malicious functions:
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\rundll32.exe' <SYSTEM32>\syste2.dll Export
- '<SYSTEM32>\taskkill.exe' /F /IM egui.exe
- '<SYSTEM32>\taskkill.exe' /F /IM ekrn.exe
Terminates or attempts to terminate
the following user processes:
- ekrn.exe
Restores hooked functions in System Service Descriptor Table (SSDT).
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\AutoRun.vbs
- %TEMP%\343265.tmp
- C:\system.exe
- C:\AutoRun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\ihaej.dll
- C:\Driver.sys
- <SYSTEM32>\syste2.dll
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\system.exe
- C:\system.exe
Deletes the following files:
- C:\Driver.sys
Moves itself:
- from <Full path to virus> to <SYSTEM32>\system.exe
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: '(null)' WindowName: '(null)'
