To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Windows Update System' = '<Full path to virus>'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Windows Update System' = '<Full path to virus>'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'svchost' = '%APPDATA%\svchost.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AEXRGYH\DFG-2352-26235-2322322-624621221-2622255\Desktop.ini
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %TEMP%\google_cache2.tmp
Moves itself:
- from <Full path to virus> to %APPDATA%\svchost.exe
Network activity:
Connects to:
- 'ga###.dyndns.info':6667
UDP:
- DNS ASK ga###.dyndns.info
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: ''
- ClassName: '' WindowName: 'BitDefender Firewall Alert'
- ClassName: '' WindowName: 'Windows Security Alert'
