Technical Information
To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'systemss' = '%WINDIR%\system\systems.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'systems' = '%WINDIR%\system\systems.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\systems.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
- file extensions
Executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\attrib.exe +h E:\autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\attrib.exe +h +s +a +r Z:\systems.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\attrib.exe +h Z:\autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\netsh.exe firewall set opmode mode = disable & exit
- <SYSTEM32>\attrib.exe +h +s +a +r %WINDIR%\system\systems.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\attrib.exe +h +s +a +r E:\systems.exe
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\leia.php
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\KHMHGZ4F\leia[1].php
- %WINDIR%\system\systems.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\systems.exe
- %WINDIR%\system\systems.exe
